#391, by Matt on Thu 14 May 2009, 10:44 pm I have the Broadcom card BCM4306 rev 03. It seems this card is particularly persnickety. It's SUPPOSED to work out of the box, but it doesn't. When I list the network adapters from the terminal, it shows up as DISABLED, and I have no clue how to enable it. It's rather frustrating, and the forums and wiki are a mess. You have any idea how to get this card working on my system? If not, would you happen to know if Arch has the same problems with this card? |

|
#378, by Deadpool on Tue 12 May 2009, 12:10 pm It is astounding how poorly made this thing is, all the CGI and green screen stuff was very obvious. It has the dumbest fucking ending of all time which seems only fitting since the whole thing was so fucking idiotic! For those who haven't seen it Sabretooth and Wolverine kiss and make up on top of a cooling tower as it collapses, why? As it turns out Sabretooth, oh I'm sorry Victor there is actually no fucking way of identifying Liev Shriever as Sabretooth. Anyway it turns out he just misses his little brother and in fact loves him so much that he went along with the main villain's convoluted plan in order to get him back. Arguably the single greatest feud in comics history reduced to this barely coherent mess. Then Logan gets shot in the head with an adamantium bullet and somehow looses his memory, the end. Fuck this movie. |

#338, by Matt on Thu 16 Apr 2009, 09:00 pm I do think the 50 people is accurate for CoH, however, because let's face it -- it's a niche game and like 1/10 the size of something like WoW, and that's not an exaggeration (note that I'm not a WoW advocate by any means, as I refuse to play any subscription-based game). I mean, City of Heroes doesn't even qualify for the "big boy" chart here: http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart1.html They're on the Tier 2 subscriber chart witho only about 140,000 subscribers http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart2.html (as compared to 11+mil at this point for WoW). So yeah, I can definitely believe that a game like City of Heroes would only need about 50 folks to run things. |

#337, by viper on Thu 16 Apr 2009, 07:11 am 50 people? Is that accurate? I bet Blizzard has more than that on its janitorial crew. |

I have gone back and installed Oblivion, Bethesda's other great time-killer. This time around I have taken great care in selecting some mods that should address the more nerve wracking features. (Wish me luck) |

Portable and powerful are still difficult (expensive) to combine and come with dramatic trade-offs. Big display? Crappy portability. Powerful CPU/Graphics Card? Crappy battery life. |

#266, by Matt on Thu 26 Feb 2009, 03:15 pm GOG is a game download site that caters to 'classic' games that deserve to have a rebirth in modern times. They take old games and strip the DRM and package them up so that they will work on modern PCs and then sell them for cheap. It's a cool gig. Duke Nukem 3D is also up there for like $6. |
